On February 21, 2019, the Economic Forum “Government and Business: A New Social Agreement”was held with the participation of three presidents of Ukraine – L. Kravchuk, L. Kuchma, V. Yushchenko. Yaroslav Romanchuk,the Managing partner of the EUCON Legal Group took part in the panel discussion.
The event’s organizers are the International Center for Black Sea-Baltic Studies and Consensus Practices, Center for Political Dialogue, the Ukrainian Business Council, whose members are 70 business associations of small and medium-sized business.
The forum was held with the aim of discussing key threats to Ukraine’s economic security and ways of neutralizing them, establishing a dialogue between presidents of Ukraine and representatives of leading business associations.
During the event, participants discussed a range of issues: the new Tax and Customs Codes and their impact on minimizing opportunities for shadow schemes, the process of de-economizing the economy and simplifying business conditions; judicial reform, law enforcement agencies reform, SFS, customs and the creation of a single service to combat economic crime; the doctrine of economic security, the purpose of which is to identify key threats to Ukraine’s economy and provide recommendations for their leveling.
In the final part of the forum, a joint appeal of the presidents to the citizens of Ukraine, business representatives, ambassadors of foreign states and all political forces was signed and announced.
