On April 20, 2016 Yevgen Petrenko, attorney, counsel of the International Legal Center EUCON took part in the Business Protection Forum. During the session devoted to operational response to business threats and cooperation with law enforcement authorities, Yevgen shared experiences on liability (including criminal) of tax officials as a tool to protect businesses.
In particular, he explained:
- legal aspects, benefits and risks for businesses when applying the principle of openness during the procedure of administrative appeal against the regulatory bodies decisions;
- using orders of the State Fiscal Service if Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice as a tool to control acts or omissions of tax authorities;
- the right of access to public information as a method of detecting the violations on the part of the regulatory bodies;
- mechanism and grounds of liability ( including criminal) of the tax officials.
