Export prospects of Ukrainian pharmacology: Yaroslav Romanchuk became a speaker at the “PharmaExport” forum

On June 15, the “PharmaExport” forum was held in Kyiv, the online speaker of which was the chairman of the Board of the Association of Ukrainian Business in Poland, attorney, and managing partner of EUCON Yaroslav Romanchuk.

The organizers of the event were AFORUM and PharmEducation.PRO, which gathered leaders of the pharmaceutical business, top experts and government officials to discuss best practices, exchange various experiences and identify pain points in this field that require immediate solutions from the state.

During the session “Development of an export strategy for pharmaceutical companies”, Yaroslav Romanchuk, speaking on the topic “Practical aspects of the implementation of export strategies in foreign markets: successes and failures on the example of the Republic of Poland”, revealed to the participants the prospects and advantages of the Polish market, in particular, such as an attractive labour market, favourable conditions for investment, strategically good location and developed business environment. In terms of human capital, Poland is attractive due to its large area, population, in particular urban and working population, developed cities, etc.

For foreign investors, the Polish market is attractive due to the presence of special economic zones, industrial and technological parks, state grants, EU structural programs for Poland, access to financial markets through the Warsaw Stock Exchange and New Connect, state export credit (KUKE, BGK), cheap banking loans and certain tax benefits.

In addition, an important aspect, according to the speaker, is that Poland became the most successful beneficiary of funding from EU funds in 2014-2020, and during 2021-2027. it is planned to allocate 160 billion euros, of which 125 billion will be for refinancing, and 35 billion will be for loans.

Yaroslav Romanchuk considered the important issue of regional aid packages, cooperation with development institutions such as ARP, PAIH, BGK, KUKE and PARP, as well as types of financing.

Another important aspect is the complexity of actions within the boundaries of business relocation and the process of preparation for it. The speaker separately focused on methods, costs, consequences, advantages and disadvantages of relocation, legal forms of registration of a legal entity in Poland, and peculiarities of opening bank accounts, and also outlined the main tax rates in the Republic of Poland.

In conclusion, Mr. Romanchuk analyzed the consequences of the implementation of the BEPS plan, because Poland became one of the first countries to join it, the MLI agreement and the start in 2024 of the CRS tax information exchange system between Poland and Ukraine, and also spoke about the vectors of the AUBP activity in the direction of support relocated business.
