EUCON Legal Group together with the Association of Ukrainian Business in Poland initiated a new series of business support events. On July 16, the first meeting of Ukrainian doctors with business was held in Warsaw with a panel discussion on “Access to medical services in Poland”.

The speakers of the event were: Professor, Doctor of Medicine, Gastroenterologist Galyna Solovyova, Obstetrician-Gynecologist Yurii Feduniv, Rheumatologist, Candidate of Medicine Iryna Nayshtetik, Dentist Anna Melnyk, Dermatologist Mariana Feduniv, Regional Manager of Liki24/Lab24 Viktor Kryvda. The meeting was moderated by Yaroslav Romanchuk, attorney-at-law, managing partner of EUCON, and Andrii Romanchuk, attorney-at-law, partner of EUCON, head of the Warsaw office.

The event began with a welcoming speech from the organizers, who outlined the main goal of the series of meetings – to establish a constructive dialogue and effective communication between doctors and business, as well as greetings from the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, which supported the event, Olha Marchuk.

The main subject of discussion was the issue of access to the medical profession in Poland through the eyes of foreign specialists. In particular, doctors shared their own experience and voiced real prospects for Ukrainian doctors in Poland.

Equally important is the aspect of access to medical services in Poland through the eyes of a Ukrainian doctor: the doctors told the participants of the discussion in detail about the peculiarities of the procedure of making an appointment with a doctor, getting a referral to doctors with different specializations, insurance system and reimbursement from the state of funds spent on medical services and medicines.

In the context of the forced mass relocation of Ukrainians to Poland, caused by the war in Ukraine, the issue of the current situation with access to healthcare in Poland for those who have received temporary protection or refugee statuses has become urgent.

The participants of the meeting also made a comparison between the health care systems in Ukraine and Poland in the context of better understanding of the mechanisms of obtaining medical services.

Before summarizing the results of the panel discussion, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to ask questions to the experts and receive comprehensive expert answers.

The panel discussion “Access to medical services in Poland” launched a series of meetings with Ukrainian doctors, successfully proving itself as an important platform for improving the dialogue between doctors and entrepreneurs, so the organizers announced future thematic events.
